You can visit Cape Porpoise and see the Goat Island lighthouse established in the 1800s that is still working. The pier is the lobster center of the area and there are several ways you can enjoy this tasty treat. Dine on the pier in casual style or go more up-scale at Pier 77.
Other activities include an in-town trolley tour and a visit to the Kennebunkport Brewery in Lower Village, Kennebunk. The Rachel Carson Wildlife Refuge area has seven miles of marsh walkways that are a birdwatcher’s paradise.

Kennebunk and the surrounding region have several annual events, the most notable is The Kennebunkport Festival in early summer. You can enjoy local food and wine while strolling through the many art galleries. A unique attraction is the Museum in the Streets. It is a walking tour to local historical sites and there are 25 historical panels along the way to answer your questions and inform you about the historical places. You can get maps at many shops around town. Two favorite places are The Wedding-Cake House and Summer Street where there are many 19th-century mansions.
