The three-bedroom WorldMark timeshares have plenty of space for large groups of travelers to stay comfortably.
The main bedroom has a private bathroom and a king-sized bed. The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed, and the third bedroom has two twin beds, allowing up to six people to sleep privately, and the sleeper sofa in the living room sleeps an additional two people, for a total maximum of eight guests. Some of the three-bedroom units have jetted tubs. They include a full kitchen with a cooktop stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, and a complete set of dishware and utensils. Suites also have a fireplace in the living room and an outdoor balcony. In the living room, you'll find a TV with a DVD player.
WorldMark Depoe Bay has several year-round amenities allowing vacationers to take full advantage of the stunning views and outdoor grounds. Depoe Bay, Oregon is the smallest navigable harbor in the world. It has claimed and holds the title of Whale Watching Capital of the Oregon Coast, making a WorldMark timeshare the place to go if you want to see these graceful and beautiful mammals in their watery habitat. From the nearby marinas you can take a boating tour of Depoe Bay and the Pacific Ocean, perhaps for a sunset cruise or a whale watching excursion, or to go snorkeling or even scuba diving beneath the waves.
The coastline around Depoe Bay is some of the most photographable in the state, with the steady strike of massive waves rushing up against the volcanic rocks of the shoreline. Deep sea fishing charters are easy to find at any time of year, while whale watching peaks during the two migrations, the first from late May through August, and the second from December through January.
Depoe Bay has a Whale Watching Interpretive Center, where you can not only watch the whales go by, but also learn more about them and their undersea adventures.
The entire shoreline is just as interesting from the land side. WorldMark Depoe Bay sits on the coastline, but you can also hike many trails from Whale Park in the north to the Whale Watching Center on the southern end of town.
As you explore by foot, bike, or car, you'll find many serene lookout points where you can spend hours just soaking up the view and discovering for yourself why Depoe Bay is considered to have some of the best scenery of any small town in the United States.
Perhaps inevitably, the dining around WorldMark Depoe Bay tends toward seafood, but its diverse restaurants also reflect the worldwide attention the area receives. By walking along the main streets you can dine and shop for hours at locally owned eateries and stores.
Further afield, you may want to take a day trip to places like Yaquina Head, home of the Yaquina Head Lighthouse, and one of the top attractions of the Pacific Northwest. The lighthouse is open during July and August for interpretive tours, but you can hike and visit the rocky beaches at any time of year, and the views from Yaquina Head are some of the best you'll find in the Depoe Bay area.
Along the way you can use the Otter Crest Loop, a stunning scenic drive along the Pacific Ocean with a broad bike lane and many hidden gems of the coastline like the Devils Punchbowl, a cavity that swirls with seawater at high tide, giving it its name.
As you can imagine, the best times to visit WorldMark Depoe Bay are during the whale migrations, but especially during the summer when the mothers and their calves swim closest to shore. During these months it is not uncommon to be able to look out the window of your two or three-bedroom suite and watch them swimming in the bay.
During the winter migration, the whales tend to swim in the deeper water offshore but are still beloved sights during whale-watching cruises. Naturally, these are the busiest times of year too, so you may want to plan in advance to get the best booking options on a unit.
The least-busy season for using WorldMark The Club points to vacation in Depoe Bay is from September through November. While the weather may turn chilly, especially in the fall, you can still drive through the picturesque towns along the coastline, and find some of the best photography weather, and with fewer crowds as well. Spring is the shoulder season, with the crowds starting to pick up in April and May and getting busier all through the summer.
