Known the world over for its beauty and outdoor activities, Lake Tahoe is an impressive freshwater lake that is on a section of the northern border of California and Nevada. Sand Harbor Beach is located just south of Incline Village township, in Nevada within the Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park. Incline Village is one of the largest towns in Lake Tahoe and the primary town on the Nevada side of the lake. The Sand Harbor Beach is a stunning shoreline for visitors and locals to enjoy outdoor activities and there’s access to a boat launch, paddleboard, kayak and jet ski rentals. Sand Harbor also has a quaint picnic area in the shade of pine trees and snack bars for food and beverages.
Some of the most beautiful lake-view trails are located in the town of South Lake Tahoe. These trails bring out the stunning scenery of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding mountains. There are multiple trails that offer family-friendly terrain and distance, and there are other trails that provide a more intense experience.
The Cascade Falls trail is a great family trail with little elevation gain and around 2 miles round trip. There are gorgeous views throughout the whole trail from Cascade Lake, to Cascade Falls and back to Lake Tahoe.
Mount Tallac is southwest of Lake Tahoe and the Mt. Tallac trail is around 10 miles round-trip with an elevation of 3,200 feet. It will definitely be worth the trek to be able to see panoramic views of Lake Tahoe.
