Many of the top ski resorts in North America are open or in the process of opening over the next couple of weeks, so it’s time to look at the top 10 winter timeshare resorts so you can hit the slopes.

For those of you who thought this might be a list of top resorts to escape from the cold during winter, we’ve got you covered but that was in our earlier blog from a couple of weeks ago. Click here to check it out.

Before we get to the resort list, we wanted to give you opening information for some popular ski resorts across the U.S. and Canada that may help you plan your trip this winter.

There are obviously more ski resorts in the U.S. and Canada than those listed above, but we’ve identified the popular areas with timeshare resorts to give you a look at whether slopes are open yet or plan to open.

The die-hard skiers may already know this information, but if you are a novice and want to give it a try, hopefully this list will help start your journey. Timeshare points programs and exchange companies make resorts in these areas accessible to any timeshare owner, regardless of whether you own fixed or floating weeks or points at a specific timeshare resort.

Remember that there is more to these regions that just the ski slopes. Many of these towns such as Park City have internationally recognized events taking place like the Sundance Film Festival.

Taverns, restaurants, shopping and holiday-themed events and decorations are all a part of these terrific destinations.

10) Grand Lodge on Peak 7

A fantastic resort operated by Breckenridge Grand Vacations, you are right at the base of Peak 7 as part of the Breckenridge Ski Resort with access to the BreckConnect Gondola. It is the 60th anniversary of the opening of Breckenridge Ski Resort, where you’ll have access to 187 trails from 35 lifts and a base elevation of 9,600ft.

9) Sunday River Grand Summit

At the base of one of the best ski resorts in New England, you’ll have ski-in, ski-out access to Sunday River and its 135 trails and 18 lifts. This western Maine location has everything from onsite dining and drink options to shopping for the latest ski and snowboard gear.

8) Village of Loon Mountain

In the midst of the picturesque White Mountains of New Hampshire, you are a stone’s throw from the Loon Mountain Ski Resort. Easily accessible just a couple of miles off I-93, you’ll choose from the 61 trails and 10 lifts to enjoy the skiing, plus snowboarding, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing.

7) Marriott's StreamSide Evergreen at Vail

This secluded spot is about three miles from the legendary ski town of Vail. One of the advantages of this location is that you are between Vail and Avon/Beaver Creek so you can have the best of both worlds. There are several lifts in town to the Vail Ski Resort trails, with the Cascade Village Lift 20 the closest at about 1 ½ miles away from Marriott Streamside.

6) Massanutten's Woodstone Meadows

One of several lodging options within the Massanutten accommodation complex, you’re about a mile from the base of the slopes. Overlooking the scenic Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, you’ll have 14 trails close by for Massanutten snow sports divided between beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.

5) Marriott's Mountainside

Sitting at the base of Utah's wonderful Park City Mountain Ski Resort, you’ll have ski-in, ski-out convenience with access to a network of over 330 trails covering 7,300 skiable acres. The region gets 355 inches of snowfall on average each year and even beginners are welcome, with beginner slopes available along with trails for intermediate and expert skiers.

4) Tahoe Beach & Ski Club

This South Lake Tahoe timeshare resort is in the perfect location for all things Tahoe. You’re right in town on the shoreline, yet a gondola ride away from the wonderful Heavenly Mountain Ski Resort. Spectacular views of Lake Tahoe combine with 97 trails and 28 lifts over 4,800 acres for a terrific experience. 

3) Foxhunt at Sapphire Valley

A great, yet underrated, location in western North Carolina between Cashiers and Sapphire, the resort is part of the Capital Vacations network of timeshare resorts. There is loads to do at Ski Sapphire Valley. Downhill skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing and the Vordach Zip Line for ziplining even in winter.

2) Christie Lodge

One of the most established timeshare resorts in the country, this Avon, Colorado resort is five minutes from the Beaver Creek Ski Resort. Choose from 167 trails through 24 lifts and the average snowfall is 325 inches a year. Over 2,000 acres of skiable terrain.

1b) Wyndham Smoky Mountains

Wyndham Smoky Mountains ResortWhile the resort is technically in Sevierville,Tennessee, it is only about a 25-minute drive to Ober Gatlinburg. Set in the amazing Smoky Mountains, this four season destination thrives in the winter with skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing and ice skating. Take the Aerial Tramway from downtown Gatlinburg and take in the sights.

And as an added bonus …..

1a) Wyndham Grand Desert

wyndham grand desert resortThis might be a stretch showing a Las Vegas resort, but you may not realize that the Lee Canyon Ski Resort is only 35 miles outside of Vegas. It has 26 trails and gets an average of 129 inches of snowfall each year. Just another way to have fun during a Las Vegas timeshare vacation at one of our most popular resorts.
