(Editor's Note, August 10: It is heartbreaking to see the impacts of the wildfires that have destroyed much of Lahaina. Please keep in mind that much of what is described below regarding the Lahaina township has now been severely impacted. As of August 10, timeshare resorts along Kaanapali Beach appear to be operational, as statements from the Westin Vacation Club and Marriott Vacation Club indicate that their resorts continue to operate, although some amenities have been closed and communications are sporadic. Visitors are being asked to leave Maui as soon as possible.)
As the second largest of the Hawaiian Islands, Maui has earned its reputation as a jewel of the Pacific, famous for its diverse landscapes, is a paradise for nature lovers and adventurers.
